Fifty years ago, on 11 April 1975, the German Fairy Tale Route was launched in the historic town hall of Steinau an der Straße. Since then, it has invited visitors to follow in the footsteps of the Brothers Grimm - from their birthplace Hanau via Kassel and Hamelin to Bremen. Whether at festivals and museum tours, on fairytale hiking trails or in historic castles and cosy inns - fairytales, sagas and legends come to life here. And there are sure to be some special surprises in the anniversary year.
