Marburg for fairy tale lovers
It was Marburg that inspired Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm to create their world-famous collection of children's and household tales. From 1802 to 1806, the brothers spent their study years in the medieval university town and were enchanted by the romantic flair of the half-timbered houses and alleys at the foot of the Landgrave's castle. Jacob Grimm wrote to a school friend: "I think there are more stairs in the streets than in the houses." A city full of unexpected impressions and mysterious places – here fairy tale lovers can let their imagination run free.
